Bat Ink Study 9.20.12

Every five minutes I kept wanting to scrap this. I really didn’t know how I was gonna shade all the gray. The skin of the bat’s wings are so smooth and up to this point I never had to cover so much area with a solid tone. Also I frankensteined my reference for this. I sketched the body of a fruit bat and the head of a vampire bat. The fruit bat looked too much like a cute puppy. Not creepy enough. The Vampire bat head worked best for this Halloween kick I’ve been on. Once I was done shading the head everything came together for me.
